Assistive Technologies Research Lab (AT Lab) is the keystone to the Pedagogy Hub for assistive technologies in Learning Technologies.Â The AT Lab physically adjoins the Learning Technologies InnovationSpace in a mutually beneficial relationship.
Location and Research Goals
The Assistive Technologies Research Laboratory (AT Lab) is located at 1180 Torgersen Hall on the main campus of Virginia Tech.
The (AT Lab) is an interdisciplinary research lab and teaching facility used to create and/or improve existing assistive technologies used by people with disabilities and pass on this knowledge through teaching and outreach. AT Lab activities include:
- Collaborating and supporting sponsored research programs of the university needing AT expertise and/or the facilities, equipment, or resources of the AT Lab,
- Working to obtain grants or sponsored funding from government, industry, and/or the private sector for AT related research,
- Providing AT expertise and/or AT Lab services to undergraduate and graduate independent research studies that may benefit individuals with disabilities.
- Disseminating AT research results and the benefits of AT by outreach activities or publications.
